For years, my old Belkin USB adapter was my go-to choice for Linux—always fast, reliable, and hassle-free. However, as recent Linux kernels gradually dropped driver support, getting the adapter detected during new distros' installations turned into a major headache.

I eventually bit the bullet and picked up the ALFA AWUS036AXML USB Wifi Adaptor, It was detected instantly on Kubuntu Linux with zero driver hunting, and the dual antennas provide fantastic signal strength. It set me back around £55.00, but paying extra for plug-and-play stability on Linux again is well worth the investment.
