Anyone who owned a Commodore 64 in the 1980's will remember the famous Xmas demo. As a child in the 1980's I was captivated by the graphics and the music at the time.

I'm not sure where the original tape came from, but I think it might have been included in the Starter pack you got when you purchased a new Commodore 64 in the UK.
